Harold Dennie Forster born in the Community of Victoria Square March 2, 1931 to Harry and Lillian Forster. Husband of 69 years to wife Joan (Murphy), father to David (Julie) and Papa to Allison & Erin (Ryan). Younger brother to the late Alberta Forster (Devins). Harold attended a single room school house in Markham Twp. and graduated later to Richmond Hill High School. After attending Ryerson Polytechnic earning his auto mechanic’s licence he worked at Starks Studebaker, Don Little Ford and Rumble Pontiac over the next few years, joining Canada Life as an insurance agent in 1956 until his retirement in 1996. He and Joan married on September 6th, 1952 and resided in Victoria Square until moving to Richmond Hill in 1963. Harold played hockey in Stouffville as a youth and was an avid hockey fan, co-founding the Richmond Hill Power Skating School and Richmond Hill Hockey School in support of youth hockey. Harold would always be seen standing across the rink in the last row at all David’s games in every arena they travelled to. His true passion was his time spent at Gull Lake where he built and fixed things, helped the neighbors, enjoyed euchre and the occasional drink, and played pranks and brewed concoctions with his buddy Jim. Always outdoors he loved the boat and entertaining neighbors on the dock, telling stories and being with his friends and family. Even as his health declined he always had a smile and never a complaint. He will be dearly missed as a husband, dad, grandparent and friend. A private family ceremony was held at the Victoria Square United Church Cemetery.
