Haifa Sader Tuesday March 2nd 2021

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Haifa Sader, widow of Raymond Sader peacefully in hospital on March 2, 2021 following a short illness. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews in Canada, the United States and Lebanon. Mourning her loss is Michel Haddad, the family of the late Victor and Claire Haddad (Steven, Daniel and Jennifer), Judy Haddad-Bowler (Ray), Khalil (Raymonde) Haddad, Naji (Eliane) Haddad, and Walid Haddad of Ottawa and area, Micheline (Alain) Chamas of Montreal, Linda Noujaim, Samir (Sawsan) Haddad, and George (Nawal) Haddad of Connecticut, Dr. Walid Haddad, Yola (Weygand) Alam, Michel (Rita) Ayoub, and Lina Ayoub of Lebanon. She was a special “Auntie Haifa” to her extended family in Canada, the United States, Lebanon and Brazil, and of course, her “special” niece Diana Haddad of Ottawa.
Haifa was always charming, elegant, and hospitable. She was proud and fiercely independent with a sharp mind and a great sense of humour. She was never short of advice and wisdom for the younger nieces and nephews. Haifa enjoyed engaging everyone in conversation, using her intellect and knowledge about current affairs and international issues. She was adventurous and loved to travel, especially to warm climates which took her to many places over the years.
She was so proud of the country of her birth, Lebanon, and never a week went by without telling a story of a Lebanese doctor, scientist or public figure and how great their accomplishments were. She was always a great story teller and had many stories to tell over Lebanese coffee in the back yard during warm summer days with no shortage of pastries and fruit, especially with her cousins Fouad and Nawal with whom she had such a close relationship. Her greatest pleasure was to be surrounded by family and friends, to entertain and be entertained.
Her faith was an integral part of her personality and she loved going to church attending every Sunday possible. She was also dedicated to her job at Kiddytown and made many lasting friendships with those she worked with.
Haifa was loved by all and she will be greatly missed.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to all her care workers, nurses, family and friends who provided exceptional care and allowed her to live independently. We would also like to the ICU staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for their care in her final few days.
Given Covid-19 precautions, a small private service for immediate family members will be held on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 11:00 AM. For those who wish to participate virtually to view the service livestream, please click the link: Hafia Sader Funeral Livestream .
