GWENDOLYN MARGARET BLODGETT
September 17, 1932 – November 24, 2021
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother Gwen Blodgett on Wednesday, November 24th, 2021 in her 89th year.
Gwen was the Matriarch of our family and ‘a force to be reckoned with.’ She and our Dad, Mo, raised four sons. They always supported us in our life decisions and were proud of our accomplishments. She was always happy with laughter and singing in our home. She looked forward to the Holiday season and particularly loved the Sound of Music, her favourite movie. Family was dear to her; she loved each and every one of her grandchildren unconditionally. She would often reminisce about when they were young; the camping trips, Blue Jay games and the sleep overs followed by a trip to Coyle’s the next day for treats. She always welcomed and loved seeing the great grandchildren as the years passed.
Gwen was predeceased by her husband Mo and sons Craig and Karl. Survived by her loving sons Michael (Kathy), Jeff (Wendy) and caring daughter-in-law Judy, as well as her dear sister Alice Gay. Nanny will be missed by cherished grandchildren Nick, Holly; Michael (Annick), Angela, Taylor; Jennifer (Chris), Adam (Susan), Ryan (Sammy); AJ (Vogue) along with her 11 great grandchildren.
Special thanks to ‘the flower lady’ Robyn Bailey for always being there for Mom. Also, many thanks to the Tillsonburg Retirement Residence staff and TDMH for their kindness and compassion.
As per Gwen’s wishes cremation has taken place with no visitation or funeral service. Memorial Donations in Gwen’s memory may be made to a Charity of your choosing.
