Guy Norman Duncan 1941 2021

It is with deep sadness we announce the
passing of Guy Norman Duncan, age 80, of
Oxford, NS. Guy passed away at home on Monday, December 6,
2021.
Born in Halifax, he was a son of the
late James and Julia (Siddall) Duncan.
As a young man, Guy worked as a
lumberjack before attending Canadian Nazarene College. He then held a
variety of occupations over his career including Pastor of the Bass
River Church of the Nazarene, Furniture Maker, Drafting Teacher,
Ambulance Driver, Michelin Forklift Driver, Farmer, Contractor,
Carpenter, Security Guard, and Lumber Grader, to name a
few.
Guy was passionate about gardening,
bushcraft, camping, music, languages, innovation, quality design,
construction, carving, woodworking, and handmade crafts. He loved
horticulture and often produced a bountiful harvest to share with
others by planting large vegetable gardens, as he did this past year
with his neighbour. Guy built many houses, including timber frame
homes. His wood carvings are treasured by all who received them. Guy
enjoyed singing, songwriting, playing guitar and banjo.
Guy’s faith in Christ, and
love of God and God’s Word, were essential to him. It was
his joy to serve his church and Big Lake Camp at every opportunity.
Over the years, he was a guest speaker in many churches, and recently
traveled to Cuba four times on mission trips. Guy will be awarded the
Distinguished Service Award posthumously by the Oxford Church of the
Nazarene.
Guy is survived by his sons Norman
(Grace Kim), Victoria, BC, Grant, Rivers, MB; daughters Cheryl,
