Thompson, Granville Banks ~ Kingston/Greenwood, NS, passed Friday, November 19, 2021. He was born in Torbrook, NS, on February 6, 1928. Granville was the second son of Frank and Myrtle Thompson. Granville owned Thompson’s Jewellery Store in Kingston which he operated for thirty-five years, retiring in 1992. He is survived by his wife Mary (Miller, MacDonnell) of thirty-four years. Stepchildren Shauna (Richard), Roderick, Carla, Philip (Chantal), Kelvin (Rhonda). Step grandchildren Valerie, Adrian, Dylanger, Karly, Heather, Amber, Erin, Samuel, Nathan, Vincent, Kelsey. Nephew Leonard Thompson (Carlene), niece Christine Davison, cousin Judith (Martin) Wobst. Sisters-in-law Emma Buchanan, Patricia Mackintosh. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Maurice, niece Linda Murphy. Celebration of Life service will be held at the Kingston United Baptist Church on Friday, November 26, 2021, at 11:00AM with Rev. Barbara Bishop presiding. Reception to follow, with interment in Torbrook Mines United Church Cemetery following the reception (weather permitting). Family flowers only. Donations may be made to World Vision, Valley Regional Hospital or Valley Hospice. Due to current restrictions, it is now required to show Proof of Vaccination for both indoor and outdoor ceremonies. Masking and hand sanitizing continue to be required. Arrangements have been entrusted to Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448.
