Graham Eldred Leonard
May 4, 1932 – December 24, 2021
LEONARD, Graham Eldred. Passed away peacefully on December 24, 2021 at Hill House Hospice, Richmond Hill at the age of 89 years. He is reunited with his beloved wife, partner, lover and friend of over 66 years Lois. His greatest joy in life was his marriage and for that we are all forever thankful to have been part of it.
Father of Paul (Janice) of Mt.Albert, Mark (Denise) of Ancaster, and the late John (Cheryl Butler) of Richmond Hill. Proud and devoted Grandpa Graham to Craig (Emma) and Cameron. Graham was the son of the late John and Eliza Leonard of Collingwood. Predeceased by brothers Charles (Ruth), Donald (Bonnie), Royce (Joan), Garnet and sister Beth.
Upon marrying, Graham moved with his new bride to Richmond Hill from Collingwood to continue his lifetime career at CN Rail. An integral member of many branches of the Masonic Order, he held many prominent positions. He was also a dedicated member of the Richmond Hill Presbyterian Church.
He was also an avid golfer who in his later years traded his birdies for birds; he was particularly proud of participating in the annual bird count later in life.
He will be forever remembered by many extended families and close friends. A heartfelt thank you to the staff of Chartwell Oak Ridges and Hill House Hospice for their care and compassion and to Dr. Samaha for her guidance over the years. A special thanks to Paul & Janice for all of their efforts and time spent taking care of Mom & Dad over the last 18 months.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Marshall Funeral Home, 10366 Yonge Street, Richmond Hill on Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. To attend the visitation and/or funeral you must register online at www.marshallfuneralhome.com. Select the RSVP button in Graham’s obituary page. Proof of vaccine, with valid ID will be required to attend this funeral Masks are mandatory, and please adhere to social distancing protocols in the chapel. Private Interment to follow in Stayner at a later date.
