Obituary of Gordon Paul Maynard
Gordon Paul Maynard, 66, passed peacefully away on June 5th, 2021, at his home in Fort McMurray, surrounded by his family and close friends.
Gordon is survived by his wife Sandra (of 41 years). He was the proud father of two children, daughter, Amanda McCabe (Robert Hawley) of Fort McMurray, former spouse Alan McCabe and son, Jamie Maynard (Michele) of Alymer, Ontario. The lights of his life, his grandchildren; Emily, Liam, Mary and Beth. Mother-in-law Mary Brake of Corner Brook, NL. Also leaving to mourn his sibling’s sister, Della Toope of Mount Pearl, NL, Brother Fred (Helen) Maynard of Corner Brook, NL and sister Mercedes (Harry) Maynard, Norris Point, NL, brother-in-law Todd Reid of Norris Point, NL. and a large circle of nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles and other extended family; including his two best buddies Casey Flight and Mike Foote. He will be missed by his loving cat, Chester.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Elizabeth Maynard, infant brother Hector, brother Victor (Catherine), sister Paulette, sister Loretta(James) Major, father-in-law RJ Brake, and brother-in-law William Brake and Randy Toope.
A special thank you to Dr. Kumar and Dr. Yam and the nurses and staff of Northern Lights Regional Health Centre’s Chemo Unit, Ambulatory Care and the Home Care Nurses.
There are no events scheduled at this time—interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Gordon’s memory to a children’s charity of your choice.
