Hipel – Gordon Arthur of Espanola passed away at the Espanola Regional Hospital on April 3, 2021 at the age of 90. Dear son of the late Arthur & Lillian (nee Kaufman). Beloved husband of Lenore (nee LeDrew). Loving father of Kim Osmond (Chris) of Newfoundland and Labrador, Mark Hipel (Robin) of Aurora and Whitney Burton (Dave) of Doylestown PA. Cherished by grandchildren Zachary, Mark, Jacob, Isaiah, Zoey, Emily, Sarah, Abby, Anna and 2 great grandchildren Ollie and Alfie. Dear sister of Shirley Myers of Cambridge and predeceased by 7 other siblings. Also, will be sadly missed by many friends & relatives. Gord was a wonderful husband, father, role model and hero to many. He was a man of great faith and always a servant to others. He served his church and community for decades in so many meaningful ways. He was a family man who always gave his love and support. When he visited with family or friends, he loved to share old times, family adventures and of course his thoughts on worlds affairs. Gord was a numbers man who enjoyed being organized. His other hobby over the years was a wood worker. If you’ve been in his house you will see, in every room, wooden furniture he has lovingly crafted. He will be profoundly missed and always loved by Lenore, his wife of over 65 years. The family would like to sincerely thank all those family and friends who have brought food and called with their condolences. It is very much appreciated. Cremation with a Celebration of Life and interment of ashes will be at a later date. If so desired, donations to United Church of Espanola would be appreciated.
