Obituary for
Gloria Rosset (Déry)
It is with sadness that Gloria’s family announces her death at the age of 88, which occurred in Sudbury on September 18, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Robert Rosset of Sudbury. Beloved mother of Monique Rosset of Ottawa, Michèle Rosset of Brossard, QC, Marie Rosset (Peter Quinby) of Powassan, Claire Rosset of Toronto, and Nicole Caballero (Bryan) of Beamsville. Dear sister of Rosa Desroches and Léona Déry, both of Ancienne-Lorette, QC. Beloved grandmother of Guillaume Mongrain, Amélie Mongrain, Francis Quinby, George Quinby, Rachel Quinby, Iain Caballero and Laura Caballero. Great grandmother of Éléa Meyer and Raphaël Mongrain.
A native of Ancienne-Lorette, Quebec, Gloria moved to Sudbury in 1954 after marrying Robert. During the 67 years that followed, sustained by her deep faith, she was a devoted wife, a loving and inspiring mother, a caring and loyal friend. She contributed time, energy and wisdom in the service of her parish, various catholic groups, and members of her community. Her talents were many, as can attest all those who tasted her jams and food from her garden.
To know Gloria was to be inspired to become a better person.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Cooperative Funeral Home, 222 Lasalle Blvd East (at Notre-Dame), Sudbury, on September 23, 2021, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. on September 24, 2021, at Ste-Anne des Pins Church, Sudbury.
