Obituary
Glenna E. Owers
January 20, 1925 – January 5, 2021
Passed away peacefully at Fairhaven Nursing Home on January 5th, 2021. Wife of the late Bernie Owers. Loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and great-aunt to her family. Fond memories of her love for her son, Glenn (Sue), and her grandson Ian, and by numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brothers Earl, Bert (Doreen), Charlie (Tess), Clifford (Dot), and sister Verla (Clarence). Baking was her passion, not only for her family and friends, but for her church. A long-time member and volunteer with St. Matthews church on Wallace Point Road, her delicious pies were the highlight of the church suppers. Glenna enjoyed sports, including softball and croquet. Chinese checkers was a staple after any meal, and made for some intense games, between family members and friends alike. To all the residents and staff at Jackson Creek retirement home, that lost to Glenna at Chinese Checkers, a heartfelt thank you to making her time there special. To all the residents and staff in Fairhaven Riverside 4, that got to know her over the past 9 months, thank you for your love and devotion to your work. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
