Passed away at the Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Orillia on Tuesday August 24, 2021 at the age of 91 of Coldwater. Beloved wife of the late Harry “Sonny” Dale and Morley Oakley. Loved mother of Deborah Oakley Kaufman (late Rick) and James Oakley (Wendy). Loving grandmother of Christopher (Leah Long), Jonathan (Melissa), and Emily Oakley (John Ruston). Dear great grandmother of Carter Oakley, Hunter Boys and Sienna Oakley. Predeceased by her parents Orville and Ellen Abbott and by her brothers Ernie, Morley, Mervin, and Orville. Will be remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Gladys will be deeply missed by her compassionate and caring best friend, Diane Sauve. Gladys leaves family and friends with great memories and many happy years shared together and we thank God for her time with us. Gladys was a councillor for the Village of Coldwater, was Chair of the Board of Directors and instrumental for the development of the Coldwater Seniors Apartments (phase 1 and phase 2) and also enjoyed making quilts which are enjoyed by family and friends. The family wish to express their sincere appreciation to her friend and doctor Evans Stone, and the staff and doctors of Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion shown to Gladys. Following cremation a graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Coldwater Cemetery.
