Gladys Bernice Brown 2021

Bernice passed away peacefully, at age 98, at Strathaven Lifecare Centre, Bowmanville on December 11, 2021. Formerly of Baltimore and Cobourg, she was predeceased in 2012 by Bruce, her cherished husband of 65 years.
Bernice, daughter of the late Henry Mann and Alvira McEvers, was also predeceased by her six older sisters and brothers, Esther (Fitzpatrick), Edna (Cameron), Orlo, Clifford, Henrietta and Russell. She is survived by her sons Murray (Marilyn) of Oshawa and Wayne (Edda) of Ottawa, as well as grandchildren Dale (Melissa), Andrea (Jeremy) and Ryan, and great grandchildren Olivier and Marielle.
Bernice was a longtime and devoted member of the Baltimore United Church,
serving as a Sunday School teacher, Mission Band leader and in various offices with the Baltimore UC Women. She was also a member of the Baltimore Women’s Institute, serving at many events, and very supportive of overseas missions, particularly for children.
The Brown family thanks the staff at Strathaven for their care and compassion during Bernice’s 6 years of residency.
A celebration of Bernice’s lengthy life will be announced at a later date. Those who wish may make a memorial donation to Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank. Interment will take place at a later date at the Baltimore United Church cemetery.
