Giovanni passed away on August 22, 2021 after a courageous battle with COVID-19 at the age of 81. Born in Napoli, Italy in 1940 to father Isidoro and mother Genoveffa. Adoring husband of Carmen for 55 years. Cherished father and father-in-law of Monica (David) and Isidoro (Anita). Beloved nonno of Kayla, Valentina, and Vanessa. Dear brother of Gerry (June), Teresa, and Adriana.
Giovanni with his wife and children, moved to Canada from California, USA in 1980 to be close to his family. In his retirement, Giovanni was known around the community as a journalist and photographer, capturing many events for his blog italiani.ca.
Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Funeral Home, 211 Langstaff Road E on Friday, August 27, 2021 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held by on Saturday, August 28 at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Trinity Parish, 3220 Bayview Ave. Entombment to follow in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
