Obituary
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gilles Voyer. He is survived by his children Rick and Dominique Voyer. He has always given thanks to the woman who he shared 24 years with and made him a father. Nicole Dupuis, despite the ending, the marriage boasted his greatest joy, and he never forgot that.
He his also survived by his devoted partner, Katie Voyer (nee Thomson), and step child Lance Miller, who he always treated as his own, but never over shadowed the place of their real father.
Gilles came from a large family that rooted throughout his childhood community of Corbeil. He honoured those roots, and was a humble man who didn’t have money, but was willing to help anyone in need.
Beyond those roots, was the family that loved and accepted him, no matter what. His brothers, George Martell (Connie) of Aylmer, and Billy Martell (Lianne) of St. Thomas, and his little sister Julianne St. Pierre (Don) of Desaulniers. You all added to his life’s happiness. He was always so grateful for any time you gave him.
A celebration of life will be announced later. In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be made to North Bay Food Bank, to help others as Gilles will have wanted.
