VEROUDEN – It is with great sadness that the family of Gertruda “Trudy” Maria Verouden (nee Scheepers) announces her passing on Feb 20, 2021 at University Hospital, London in her 95th year. She was the beloved wife of the late Willem Hendrik Verouden who she was married to for over 56 years. Trudy was the dear mother of Carl Verouden (Jessica) of London, Jane Berardini (Ben) of London, and Bill Verouden (Sherry) of Lexington, North Carolina. She was the loved grandmother “Oma” of Andrea Verouden (Ben), Leah Harrigan (Bryan), and Caitlin Verouden (Aaron), Adriana and Benjamin Berardini, Andrew, Alex, Abby, and Anna Verouden. Additionally, she was the beloved great grandmother to Max, Charlotte, and Nicholas. Trudy was a longtime member of Holy Trinity Catholic Parish (St. Rita’s Catholic Church). Trudy was a wonderful mother, wife, and good friend to many. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Oakcrossing Long Term Care in London and to the staff at the University Hospital Palliative Care Unit. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in lieu of flowers and may be arranged through Brock and Visser Funeral Home, Woodstock, 519-539-0004 or www.brockandvisser.com Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery. The family will be celebrating her life once COVID restrictions are lifted.
