Obituary of Geraldine Marie MacDonald
MacDonald, Geraldine “Gerry”
Geraldine “Gerry” (nee Reinhart) MacDonald in her 94th year, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 17, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Donald Amos MacDonald (2008). Loving mother of Diane MacDonald (Brian Butler), Shirley Davis (late Terry 2016), Sandra Demers (Larry), David (Brenda) and Gord (Lisa). Cherished grandmother of Jeremy, Brianna, Stacey, Joshua, Katherine, David, Erica, Ashley, Trudy and Tyler and great- grandmother of Tristen, Jude, Dax, Jack, Scarlett and the late Landon (2019). Survived by her dear sister Bernice Reinhart of Mildmay, Ontario. Predeceased by her siblings Leonard, Norm, Joseph, and Jim Reinhart.
In the last several years Gerry enjoyed attending Mass in the Mt. Hope Chapel and praying the rosary daily. She also enjoyed many activities including bingo, euchre and outside activities with her “Mt. Hope” family. Special thanks to the staff of 5th floor St. Mary’s, too many to mention by name, for their wonderful care of Gerry.
Visitors will be received at the John T. Donohue Funeral Home, 362 Waterloo Street at King Street on Thursday, October 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 o’clock. (1/2-hour increments). Funeral Mass will be held at Mary Immaculate Church, 1980 Trafalgar Street, on Friday, October 22nd at 11 o’clock. Interment in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Registration for both visiting and Mass are required. Please email donohue@donohuefuneralhome.ca with your name, phone number and time preference. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Alzheimer Society, Childcan (for childhood cancer) or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
