Obituary of Gerald Elton McGruthers
McGRUTHERS: Gerald (Papa)
Passed away peacefully at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday, September 5th, 2021. Gerald was the beloved husband of the late Phyllis (nee Hazzard) and Darlene (nee Caverly), he was 83 years old. Loving father of Kevin McGruthers (Debbie), Mary Ann McGruthers (John), Laurie Tench (Randy), Sherri Gagnon, Donald McGruthers, and the late Richard McGruthers and Janice McGruthers, also by Darlene’s children Brian Campbell (Sara), Trevor Campbell (Amy), Dyan Kennedy (Shane), and the late Jennifer Lucas (Gerry). “Papa” will be lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Gord. Predeceased by his parents Robert and Dorothy McGruthers and also by his siblings Nil, Ann, Margaret, Jim, Eddie, Liz, Perry, Henry, Percy, Bill and Leo.
Visitation will be held in the Martyn Funeral Home on Thursday, September 9th from 12noon until time for a Funeral Service in the Martyn Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM. Please call the Martyn Funeral Home at 705-472-8810, to reserve a time for the Visitation or Funeral. Masks must be worn while in the Funeral Home, and please respect Social Distancing. Cremation to follow the service with Gerard’s ashes being buried at the Nipissing Junction Service, at later date.
