Gerald Eric
Glinz –
63, Bible Hill, passed away peacefully, with his loving wife at his
side, on Saturday morning, September 4, 2021, at Colchester East Hants
Health Centre, Truro. Born in Truro, he was a son of the late Gerry
and Ethel (McPhee) Glinz.
Eric had a very fulfilling career with the RCMP
and retired in 2006 as a Constable. He and Shari enjoyed travelling
and have camped in every province in Canada and every state in United
States. He was a member of Truro Curling Club, but his greatest joy
was spending time with his grandchildren.
Eric is survived by his wife and best friend of
41 years, Shari (Smith); children, Andrew Glinz, Linacy, Pictou
County; Dawn Glinz, Salmon River; Gerald (Sarah) Glinz, Valley;
grandchildren, Laura Dunlap, Eli, Luca and Tessa Glinz; siblings,
Linda Ross, Truro; Robbie (Gail) Glinz, Ontario; Trish (Lothar)
Schollmeier, Brookfield; Ernie Glinz (DJ Bennett), Forest Glen;
sister-in-law, Winnie Glinz, Ontario; many nieces and nephews. Along
with his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Donnie Glinz.
Honouring Eric’s wishes, a private
family interment will be held at Robie Street Cemetery, 125 Robie
Street, Truro. If so desired, donations in Eric’s memory to
Diabetes Canada are welcomed.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall
– Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. Private
