On Wednesday, August 4, 2021, in his 101st year. Beloved husband of Elaine for seventy-three years. Loving father and father-in-law of Sharon and Dr. Michael Zigman, Sheila and Dr. Kenneth Aaron, Dr. Barry and Jill Cohen, Kathy and Barry Conway. Adored and proud Zaida of Dr. Daniel Zigman and Naomi Berkowicz, Jeff and Esther Zigman; Lisa and Alan Petlak, Edward and Mindy Aaron; Dr. Sara Cohen, Brett Cohen, and Chloe Cohen. Amazing great-grandfather of Aderes, Ezri, Hannah, Aryeh, Andrew, Olivia, Maya, Asher, and Heath. Predeceased by his dear siblings, Frieda and Ben Basbaum, Milton Cohen, Harold and Marcia Cohen, Mildred and Leonard Albert, and Dr. Seymour Cohen. Brother-in-law of Reva Cohen, Vivian and Harvey Bernard; predeceased by Freda and Sam Freedman, Toby Axelrod and Sam Kuzmarov, and Rube Axelrod. He will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends. The family is grateful to his most wonderful caregivers, Cenn, Grace, and June for their incredible love and devotion. Private funeral service. He was a wonderful role model for all. He loved his family and community. “A true mensche.”
