In Celebration of
Georgina Tan Zulkarnain
June 13, 1937 –
November 22, 2021
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georgina Zulkarnain (Tan) at the age of eighty four.
Born on June 13,1937 in Jakarta, Indonesia and has lived in Montreal, Quebec for the past 48 years.
Predeceased by her late husband Eddy Zulkarnain and son Albert. Leaving behind sons James (Connie) and Steven (Lisa), daughter Lydia (Harvey) and grandchildren Timothy, Sarah, Ryan, Kayla, Mackenzie and Trystan. As well as sisters Caroline, Irveline and Christine.
An important turning point in Georgina’s life came when she began studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1971, later in 1972 she was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Wanting a better life for the family her husband decided to bring the family to Canada in 1973.
She will always be remembered for her ready smile, generous spirit and devotion to her Creator.
She enjoyed gardening, playing piano, and travelling. She was also known for her amazing cooking.
We all look forward with great anticipation for the day when we’ll get to see her again, young and beautiful, alongside Eddy and their son Albert. As promised in Job 14:15, “ when God “will call, [she] will answer”; and Jehovah God “will long for the work of his hands.”
A special thanks to the staff at the Centre d’hébergement de Lachine for their care and patience.
A private memorial will be held in Mount Royal Funeral Complex on 30th November 2021 (10AM-12PM).
A memorial talk will be given on future date TBD December 2021 at 1PM.
Note: Zoom meeting ID will be posted when available.
