January 2, 1949-October 31, 2021
It is with sadness the family announces that George passed away in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia on Sunday October 31, 2021. George Frank Scobie formerly of Arnprior, Ontario at the age of 72. Son of the late Lloyd and Christina (Collingwood) Scobie. Dear brother of Beverley Bigelow (Dennis White) (late Richard) of Arnprior. Dear uncle of Michael Bigelow (Christine), Jeffrey Bigelow (Lisa), Leslie Farrell (Rick) and Teri Landess (Frank). Great uncle of Justin Farrell (Natasha), Paula Farrell, Hannah Bigelow (Adam), Lexi Landess and Cassidy Foxworth. Great-great uncle of Nova Lynn and Nora. George was predeceased by his 2 brothers: Gary Scobie (Karen) and Tom Scobie. George held a career with Air Canada and later began his chosen career path as a financial planner. He will be remembered fondly by his friends and colleagues in Nova Scotia as well as his family and long-time friends in the Ottawa Valley. Private funeral arrangements have taken place in Nova Scotia. For those wishing, a donation may be made in George’s memory to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute or to the Canadian Cancer Society.
