Peacefully at Rosewood Retirement Residence, Cobourg, Ontario, in his 89th year.
George was born and raised in Baltimore and Cobourg. He married Joan Finley in 1956 at her family’s farm in Wicklow, and they were married for almost 65 years. George finished school in Grade 8 and began working to help support the family. He became a mechanic by trade, working at Ford and Chrysler garages, and then 27 years at G.E. Plastics in Cobourg. His passion was restoring antique cars, with his 1930 Ford Model A Roadster being his pride and joy. He and Joan enjoyed many good years living at Cherryhill Farm in Grafton.

George is survived by his wife Joan, children Karen (late Bill Smith) and Brian (Kelly Robinson) and 3 loving grandchildren – Forrest, Camryn and Bria. Brother of Mary, Eleanor Abramczyk (late Nick) and Tom (Betty-Ann). Predeceased by sisters Eva Abramczyk (late Tony), Elizabeth (late Bob Parsons), Helen Hibert (late Leroy) and Kathleen.
