Obituary
It is with heavy hearts the family of George Thomas Murchison announces his peaceful passing which occurred on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at the Church of St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Four Falls, NB on May 13, 1927 he was the son of the late Milburn and Edna (Murphy) Murchison. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Leora Blanche (Armstrong) Murchison of 64 ½ years; brother Ernest Murchison; son-in-law Jamie Morrison and brother-in-law Brendon Armstrong.
He is survived by his loving daughters Leota Murchison (Ken), Sheila Arthurs, Wanda Smits, Lois Murchison and Ramona Morrison; cherished grandchildren Angela (Jason), Philip, Melissa (Ryan), Chris (Crystal), Andrew (Cindy), Daniel and James; great grandchildren Alex, Liam, Jaxon, Jacob, Ava and Chloe; sisters-in-law Jane Murchison and Leona Armstrong.
George worked at Connor Bros May of 1946 and was there he met his beautiful wife Leora Armstrong. He then went to work for Baxter Express from 1951-1953 and then went to MRA’s and then from there went to SMT in 1957 and retired from there in 1992 after 35 years of service. He loved to sing and play guitar to his girls.
The family would like to thank all the staff at the St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home for the love and care given to our Dad.
Arrangements are under the care of Fundy Funeral Home, Saint John (646-2424). His funeral service will be held from Fundy Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 15 at 1:30 p.m. for invited guests only. A link will be added to the website for live streaming the funeral. A private family interment will take place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Donations in memory of George may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
