George Norman Holroyd
April 26, 2021

Peacefully, with his favourite piano CD playing softly to ease him on his journey, George Holroyd passed away at St. Marys Memorial Hospital on April 24th, 2021.
Born in Stratford on February 2, 1930 to Ray and Mary (Primrose) Holroyd, George was the youngest of 3 children.
Predeceased by his brother Jim (Marion), brother-in-law Jack (Margaret) and brother-in-law Don (Marion). He will be forever missed by his wife Norma, whom he married in St. Marys 60 years ago, as well as his daughters Judy Paterson, Sue Fowler (Greg) and son Jim. Survived by five grandchildren, Andrew (Kristen), Amanda (Mark), Bryan (Ashley), Shaelyn (Jesse), Rachel (Mike), and five great-grandchildren.
George was the former owner/operator of St. Marys Electric until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed his retirement wintering in Florida, and playing shuffleboard and cards with good friends both old and new, spending time at the Friendship Centre and his family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Happy Valley Family Health Team and in particular Dr. Chuck Gatfield, for the wonderful health care and compassion given to George the last few weeks of his life.
Cremation has taken place. At his request a private graveside service will be held at a later date. Internment St. Marys Cemetery.
Donations to honour his memory can be made to the St. Marys Presbyterian Church or the St. Marys Friendship Centre
