George Harron Tuesday December 21st 2021

George Edward Harron died peacefully, at Woodstock General Hospital, on December 21, 2021, 3 days short of his 97th birthday.
Survived by his loving wife of 74 years Ethel (Hume), whom he met while teaching in Arkel.
Dear father of Marlene (Frank) Thompson, Bruce (Judy), Brian (Christine Hansvick), Rod (Chris).
Cherished grandfather of 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by parents John Harron & Ada (Cruickshank); infant daughter Shirley; brothers Gerald, Emerson, Lorne; sisters Sadie Hollands and Wyn Fraser.
Born and raised near Tara, Ontario, George had been a Teacher and Principal in the elementary system in Arkel, Milverton, Langton, Tillsonburg and at College Avenue Secondary School in Woodstock. During his working career, George belonged to the Boy Scouts and the Lions Club in Langton and was on the session of Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock. In Kincardine he joined the choir of Knox Presbyterian and belonged to Probus. He loved woodworking and making Christmas ornaments.
George and Ethel retired to Kincardine in 1983. They also spent 16 years living in Florida during the winter and made many friends there. They returned to Woodstock in 2014.
Cremation has taken place.
Celebration of life will be held in the spring.
Final resting place Kincardine Cemetery.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, to Presbyterian Sharing in care of Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine, or Knox Presbyterian Church, Woodstock appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
