George Douglas Kinsman – age 78, of Sheffield
Mills, passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 in the Valley Regional
Hospital, Kentville. Born in Middleton, he was a son of the late
Victor and Marion (Banks) Kinsman. At one time, George was the largest
hog producer in Nova Scotia. Over the years, he farmed tobacco, hogs
and grains. He was a kind, gentle man who loved to work the land and
was well known by many. He loved fly fishing, snowmobiling and the
simple things in life, especially a good meal. Family would always
come first. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 56
years, Mary (Ward); daughter, Sheila Bishop (William Woodworth),
Bennett’s Bay; son, Brian, Sheffield Mills; sister, Shirley
Smith, Canning; grandchildren, Justin Bishop (Sherri Pineo) and Jana
Bishop (Mark Pickwell); great grandson, Carter; a niece, Heather and a
nephew, Kevin. He was predeceased by a son, Bruce; great
grandchildren, Kariann and Kierstean. Cremation has taken place and
there will be no visitation, by request. A private family graveside
service will be held at a later date. The family would like to express
their sincere appreciation to the staff of Medical B –
Valley Regional Hospital, EHS and the Canning Medical Clinic.
Donations in memory may be made to the Canning Volunteer Fire
Department. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the White
Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville.
