Obituary
On Sunday, November 14, 2021 at the Portage District General Hospital George Desjardin passed away at the age of 64 years.
George was born on January 23, 1957 and raised in Portage la Prairie. At a young age he enjoyed playing sports, such as hockey and baseball. George was employed by the government of Manitoba for 32 years, from February 13, 1984 to May 13, 2016.
He was predeceased by his mother Marjorie (2012), father Clarence (1996), brother Daryl (2018) and infant sister Valerie (1959). George leaves to mourn his passing his two sisters Shelly (Mark) Mazurat and Elizabeth Lilley (Dan Gurke), along with nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by his aunt Doreen Cardinal, uncles Bill Desjardin and Eddie Desjardin, extended family and friends, as well as his loving dog Lucky.
A public viewing will take place at McKenzies Portage Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A private family graveside service will be held at Hillside Cemetery.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made in George’s memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 1379 Kenaston Boulevard Winnipeg, MB R3P 2T5.
