Obituary of Geoff Barlow
Geoff passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on June 26, 2021. Born in Tingwick, Quebec, on March 29, 1942, Geoffrey Allan Barlow of Owen Sound, was in his 80th year.
Beloved husband and best friend of Susan Barlow. Happily married for 17 years and enjoyed 10 wonderful trips during that time. Loving father of GeriLynn Barlow, Joy Barlow, Kenneth Barlow (Amanda), and stepfather of Saundra Martin (Steve), Steven Wilcox (Christine), Rhonda Clark (Martin), and Patti Wilcox. Cherished grandfather of Sarah, Chad, Mackenzie, Isaiah, Quinton, Bentley, Kurt, Kori, Paisley, Quinn, Ryan, Sawyer, John, Michelle, Amy, David, Oliver, Isaac, and great-grandfather of Nicholas, Cadence, Yulianna, Serena, Layla, A.J., and Issa. Also survived by his brother Grant Barlow, and special friend Mary Schmidt.
Predeceased by his previous wife Mary (née Grahlman) Barlow, parents Vernon and Sarah Barlow, his sisters Irene, Marion, Myrtle, and by his brothers Wells, Sinclair, Homer, Clifford, Howard, and Lawrence.
Geoff was a very hard worker and had various careers in his lifetime. He was an employee of CP Railway, a barber out of Markdale, and a clerk-treasurer for the Municipality of Markdale. Geoff will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
As per Geoff’s wishes, cremation will be taking place and there will be no funeral or memorial service. His remains will be interred in Greenwood Cemetery, Owen Sound. Arrangements are entrusted to Brian E. Wood Funeral Home, Owen Sound, 519-376-7492. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to COPD/The Lung Association would be appreciated.
