Obituary of Gary Douglas Smith
Gary Douglas Smith age 77 of Big Flats, NY passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday September 8, 2021. Gary was born September 26, 1943 in Elmira, NY the son of the late Harry S. Smith and Emma Zimdahl Smith. He received his Associates Degree from Corning Community College. Gary was a retired Registered Nurse for The New York State Department of Corrections in Elmira, NY. After his retirement, he was an Antique Dealer for many years. Gary is survived by his long-time friend and companion of over 44 years John F. Orser of Big Flats, NY; sisters: Loetta Beebe of Ohio and Nancy Drake of Washington ; sister-in-law : Mary Frances Spallone Smith (Mrs. Richard H. Smith Sr.) of Big Flats, NY; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. It was Gary’s wish that there be no calling hours or services.
