1946 – 2021
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Gary on August 7, 2021 peacefully at Royal University Hospital. Gary was born December 10, 1946 in Thunder Bay, ON and grew up in the Veragin, SK area where his parents farmed. His early education started in small country schools, first Luzan School, south of Kamsack, second Smerinie School, north of Veragin. High school began in Kamsack and last 2 years finished in St. Joseph’s in Yorkton. He finished University courses at U of S after which he started his career as a Laboratory Technician at University Hospital in 1969, until retirement in 2008. In May of 1979 he met Deb (nee Dew) and that October they married and made a life together in Saskatoon. The other loves of his life were their two Collie dogs, Lacey and Kealey, since deceased. Current Collie, Toby. He was predeceased by his father Paul and mother Edna. He is survived by his wife Deb, brother Don, sister-in-law Pat, nephew Tabber and niece Teala. In lieu of flowers, charitable donations in memory of Gary may be made to Royal University Hospital Foundation (103 Hospital Dr, Saskatoon, SK S7N 0W8).
