Garth’s Obituary
Wilson, Garth William – 81, Oliver. It is with such great sadness that the family of Garth Wilson announce his unexpected and sudden passing at Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche, on July 28, 2021. Born on September 15, 1939, in New Annan, he was a son of the late R. Hedley and Muriel (O’Brien) Wilson. Garth enjoyed working his machinery and trucking. He also enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to operate and maintain machinery. If it had wheels, he and his family had to take it for a spin. Among his hobbies, watching grandchildren at sporting events, bowling, cards, dancing, bluegrass and camping were the favorites. Garth is survived by his loving wife Martha of 62 years, children Terry, Brenda (Steve) and Bradley (Tanis), brother Wayne (Barbara), sisters Sheila (Ross) and Virginia, sisters-in-law Sylvia (Fred) and Linda Bickerton, brother-in-law Cecil (Marilyn), grandchildren Taylor, Ryan (Erika), Kenzie (Brandon), Kailley (Jake), Holly (Kyle), Breanna (Anthony), and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife’s parents, Flora (Elmer), sister Rhoda, sister-in-law Gwen (Wendell), brother-in-law Delmer and grandson Dyson. A public visitation will be from 1-4 pm on Sunday, August 1 at Coulter’s Funeral Home, Tatamagouche. Due to the trying times our world, country and communities are facing at this time, a private memorial service and celebration of life will be held on Monday, August 2 at 11 am. A livestream of the service will be available at www.mmcfunerals.com. Donations in Garth’s memory may be made to Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital Foundation or Ladies Auxiliary, Central New Annan Baptist Church, or a charity of choice.
