It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Gary in his 79th year at Southlake Regional Health Centre with his family by his side following complications from heart surgery. Husband, best friend and soul mate of Phyllis for 59 years, dearly loved father of Darren, Kelly (Ben), Lauri (John), proud papa of Kayla (Jon), Nick (Sydney), Julia, Olivia, Ruby and Jasper and great papa of Brantley, brother of Ron – predeceased (Melba), Gord (Barbara), Dorothy, Ray (Donna), Delreda (Peter), twin sister Gail (Charles), Donna (predeceased Larry), Carl – predeceased (Carol), Shirley (Rod), John (Linda), Bonnie, Barry (predeceased), brother-in-law of Gary Bylow (Patti), Cheryl James (Scott), Sandra – predeceased (Jacob). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews. Gary was a long-time employee of the Simcoe County District School Board and enjoyed many years of retirement with the love of his life, Phyllis. Following cremation, due to COVID restrictions, there will be a small family graveside service at Knox Cemetery, Oro Medonte. If so desired, in Gary’s memory, donations to Kidney Foundation, Heart and Stroke or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and will be received by the Doolittle Chapel of Carson Funeral Home, 54 Coldwater St. E., Orillia (705) 326-3595.
