With heavy hearts, we are saddened to announce the passing of Garnet Holmes, at home with his family, on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, in his 78th year. Beloved husband to Shirley (Tomlinson) and loving father to Celestine, Corinne (Jeff) and Martina. Predeceased by his father, Gordon & brother Bill. Loving son to Ruth Holmes and loving brother to Lloyd and Bonnie (Bruce) Askey. Grandfather to JD, Vanessa (David), Evelyn, Sean, Joshua and Declan. For most of his working life, Garnet was a teacher and spent the majority of his career at Centre Hastings Secondary School. He was very active in the Masonic Lodge and Eastern Star, and will be greatly missed by his Brethren and Sisters. Cremation has taken place. Funeral service will be held at the McConnell Funeral Home, Tweed on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11:30 a.m. Masonic Service, Friday at 11:00 a.m. Interment Cooper Cemetery at a later date.
