Gail Elizabeth Dagenais
1940-2021
Dagenais, Gail Elizabeth (Colburne)- 80, of Truro passed away
on Friday, February 19, 2021 in the Colchester East Hants Health
Centre, Truro. Born in Masstown, she was a daughter of the late Hance
and Cora (Norrie) Colburne.
Some stars in the sky just shine brighter than others, Gail
was one of those. She always had a yarn to spin with a twinkle in her
eye, a story from years ago, or something silly that happened during
her day. Gail loved to dance and definitely got her energy from those
around her. She found her true love later in life with Walter and they
were lucky to have each other for over 20 years. I’m sure he
was waiting for her at the door (like he usually was) on Saturday at
the big casino in the sky with a big smile.
Besides dancing, she loved spending time with family, friends
and Fluffers the cat, teaching, crafting, writing, nature and
animals.
Gail is survived by all her family and friends who loved her,
including her daughter, Carolee Dagenais; granddaughter, Erin Guilmet;
sister, Leta Mitchell; Walter’s daughters, Su; May; Cindy
and Sharon; along with many nieces and nephews. She was
predeceased by her brother, Lloyd; and niece, Carol.
Special thanks to her niece, Margie and her best friend,
Karen for their love and support.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall –
Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro. A celebration of
Gail’s life will be held later this year with interment in
Masstown Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Gail’s memory
to Shriner’s Hospital for Sick Children, War Amps for
Children, or Wayward Cats Society of Truro, Chapter of CA-R-MA are
welcomed. Private messages of condolence may be sent to the family by
viewing Gail’s obituary on-line and selecting “Send A
Condolence” at: www.mattatallvarnerfh.com
Shine on Gail, shine on!
