Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gabriela Silva of Penticton on November 2, 2021, at the age of 82 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Justino, children Jenny (Duarte) Francisco, Lloyd (Sheila) Silva, Diane (Marcel) Silva, grandchildren Kelsey (Craig), Bryanne (Trevor), Celine, Natasha, Valerie, Isaac, and Nadia.
Gabriela leaves behind her brothers and sisters in Canada and Portugal along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Mariano and Maria Silva and her son Eduardo.
Gabriela and her husband emigrated to Canada in 1965. They first lived in Kitimat and moved to Penticton in 1975. She enjoyed traveling including many trips back to Portugal as well as camping, organizing many theatre productions at the Luso Multicultural Society of Penticton, baking, sewing, and spending time with her family.
There will be a Funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Penticton Lakeview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Gabriela’s name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
