Frederick (Fred)’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Frederick (Fred) Hatcher announces his peaceful passing at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques, NL on Friday, March 19th, 2021 at the age of 86 years. Born in Rose Blanche, NL, Fred was the son of the late Norman and Harriett Hatcher (nee Mauger). He was also predeceased by his son; Robert Hatcher, brother; Eric Hatcher, father and mother-in-law; Mary Elizabeth and George Parsons, brothers-in-law; Calvin Parsons and Leonard Musseau.
He leaves to mourn with many fond and precious memories his loving wife of 64 years Audrey Hatcher (nee Parsons), children; Stewart (Joanne) Hatcher of Rose Blanche, NL, Paula (Robert) Osmond of Port aux Basques, NL, Cindy (Mark) Markies-Hatcher of Montreal, QC, Joy (Vic) Medina of New Haven, Connecticut, grandchildren; Tony Hatcher of Edmonton, AB, Trent (Crystal) Dolomount of Port aux Basques, NL, Tori Dolomount of Kitchener, ON, Arend Markies, Audrina Markies both of Montreal, QC, Melissa (Jonathan) Neil of Port aux Basques, NL, great-grandchildren; Alyssa Hatcher, Avery Hatcher, Ethan Hatcher, Akira Hatcher, Dezhawn Hatcher all of Edmonton, AB, Phillip Dolomount and Claire Neil both of Port aux Basques, NL.
Fred also leaves behind his brothers; Gerald (Catherine) Hatcher, Cecil Hatcher both of Rose Blanche, NL, Kevin (Joyce) Hatcher of Timberlea, NS, sisters; Norma (Levi) Savoury of Port aux Basques, NL, Ruby (Robert) Humpheries of Corner Brook, NL, sisters-in-law; Ella Parsons of Marystown, NL, Loretta Hatcher of Rose Blanche, NL, Katherine Musseau of Port aux Basques, NL, Eudevilla (Ron) Dolomount of Corner Brook, NL, and Janet (Clifford) Bateman of Rose Blanche, NL, plus a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
A special thank you to the doctors and staff at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre for the kindness and compassion shown to Fred during his stay.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. In keeping with Fred’s wishes, cremation will follow and a celebration of his life and interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Fred’s memory can be made to the family.
