Fred passed away on June 23, 2021, at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 72.
He is survived by his loving wife Viola, his son Derrick (Caroline), grandson Connor and sister Corrine. Fred is also survived by numerous stepchildren and step grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his parents Ivy and William and sister Donna.
Fred worked for The Calgary Herald for 28 years until his retirement. He was president of the Union for 5 years, which was something he enjoyed. Fred grew up in Calgary and moved to Canmore, Alberta upon retirement and later moved to Penticton, BC where he enjoyed the beautiful weather for the last 14 years.
