Frederica “Freddy”‘s Obituary
NOAH, Frederica “Freddy” – It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Frederica “Freddy” Noah on July 4, 2021 at the age of 97 with her family at her side. Born in Portugal Cove, C.B. Newfoundland on May 29, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Ethel Violet (Andrews) Hibbs. A homemaker for all her years, our beautiful matriarch was an avid bingo player over her lifetime starting at St. Ambrose, as well as her love for her beautiful quilt-making and bowling. She was always known for all her home-cooked meals and baking for her big family, but more importantly sharing her heart of gold with anyone who surrounded her, and a smile that would light up a room. Gram loved spending all her time with her family, including being outdoors and traveling back home to Newfoundland. She is survived by her son, John (Gayle) Noah of South Ohio; son-in-law, Roger Surette; her six grandchildren, Lisa (Mark Hurlburt), JR Surette, Melanie (Sean Kenney), William, Elizabeth (Vanja Popovic), Rachael and “Nanny Gram” to her five great-grandchildren, Nathan, Reid, Cowen, Kiersten and Mila, as well as her niece, Lona (Gord Badcock), who held a very special place in her heart. She was predeceased by her husband Killam Noah; brother, Angus (Renee) Hibbs; sister, Mina (Sam) Harnem and daughter, Winnifred Surette. A special thank you to Dr. David Webster for all the care over the years to Mom. Cremation has taken place under the direction of H.M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Yarmouth. A private graveside service will take place at Our Lady of Calvary Cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
