Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Frank Fish in his 88th year at St. Peter’s Hospital in Hamilton, Ontario on July 17, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Flo Fish (nee Chorney) for 64 years. Loving father to Lynn MacMillan (late Bob), Lori Watson (J.R.) and Terry (Marilyn). Proud grandpa to Erin, Jeff (Goldie), Brian, Scott, Jenn (Nathan), Chelsea, Julia and the late Christie. Great grandpa to Hunter and Tyler. He will also be sorely missed by his sister Georgia McCulloch (late Bob) and brother Mike (Debbie) and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Vic and Kay Fish, and sister Lois.
Frank began his career at Bell Canada in 1950. With a dream of becoming a navy pilot, early in the 50’s he also joined the Canadian Naval Reserve. After marrying Flo in 1956, he put aside his dream of being a navy pilot. They started their family and he continued with his 34 year career at Bell Canada. After “retiring” in 1984, he continued working as a consultant with Bell Canada International and Nortel. This second career had him living and working in Saudi Arabia, Guatemala and Columbia, much of it with Flo at his side. It was during this second career that they found the opportunity to travel to many parts of the world – including most of Europe, Russia, Thailand, India, New Zealand and Brazil. When he finally did retire the second time, Frank and Flo bought their dream sailboat – the Layalee – and spent many hours on the waters of Lake Ontario. He also took the time to take flying lessons and became a private pilot, fulfilling his dream. Their love of travel continued and they helped keep the cruise line industry afloat, logging 20+ cruises. Never one to sit still for long (and hating to spend money on anything he could do himself!), Frank took up several hobbies including furniture making/refinishing, woodworking and home renovation.
The family would like to offer sincere thanks to the nurses and PSWs of Home and Community Care, the medical staff at Juravinski Hospital, Joseph Brant Hospital and especially the nurses and doctors at the Palliative Care Unit of St. Peter’s Hospital.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum. Family and friends will be notified of a Celebration of Life to be held at a future date.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Frank Victor Fish September 10 1933 July 17 2021 (age 87)..
