Francis (Frank)’s Obituary
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Francis (Frank) Taylor Knight announces his peaceful passing on May 7, 2021 at the Carmelite House in Grand Falls-Windsor at the age of 92.
Frank was predeceased by his parents Sandy and Caroline Knight, twin baby brother Harry, son’s Gary, Billy, brothers Gerald (Kay), Tom (Margaret), Irvin (Doreen), Bill.
Left to mourn with precious memories are his wife Katherine; son, Dave (Gail Keats); daughters, Jane ( Ron Abbott), Elizabeth (Graham Budgell), Carolyn (Warren Tilley); grandchildren, Kelly (Steve Adams), Victoria (Tylor Archambault), Matthew (Olivia Noseworthy), Vincent Tilley; great grandchildren, Tyler, Colin, Paisley, Paxton, Jackson; as well as many nieces and nephews, and a large circle of family and friends.
Frank was born and raised in Moreton’s Harbour. He met and married the love of his life Katherine (Lyver) from Fortune Harbour, they lived and worked in Toronto in the early years and after starting their family they moved back to Fortune Harbour where they lived the majority of their lives. They eventually moved to Grand Falls-Windsor in their later years to be close to their children.
Frank had a wonderful sense of humor; whenever you were in his company you could be sure he would put a smile on your face. He loved telling stories from his childhood and from all the adventures in his life. He was truly a wealth of knowledge, if you needed to know something he was the one to ask, and he got taken up on that very often. His biggest pride and joy was his family, he was so proud of his children, but he especially enjoyed time spent with his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren, he loved his visits from them and they all loved the time they got to spend with him. He loved watching and cheering for his favorite hockey team, Toronto Maple Leafs, and always hoped to see them one day win the cup again. One of his favorite pastimes was playing pro-line and he rarely missed the opportunity to play. Frank was a devoted Son, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and friend to so many. He definitely left us with so many wonderful memories that we will cherish in our hearts forever. Dad, thank you for always being our loving, funny and most wonderfully amazing Father. We miss you so much but we know you are in Heaven now and we have another guardian angel to look over us. “Say not in grief’ he is no more’ but in thankfulness that he was…..”
The family of Frank would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and entire staff of the Carmelite House for the wonderful care given to our father, their love and caring support during this difficult time is very much appreciated.
Cremation to take place.
