ROACHE, Francis Eugene
It is with profound sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Francis Roache of Lockeport, NS on Sunday, July 11, 2021 at the age of 60. Francis was the fourth child of Eugene and Sarah Roache of West Head. He was the baby of the family, following his brothers Myers and Edsel and his sister Melda. As a child he found adventure around every corner and was rarely without a smile on his face. He started fishing with his father when he was a young boy and immediately knew that he never wanted to work ashore again. Always a hard worker, his passion was lobster fishing, both in-shore and off. In 1985 he married the love of his life, Wendy Foote. Together they built a life, and their dream home in Lydgate. They later welcomed the most perfect baby girl, their daughter Maria whom he loved fiercely. He was never happier than when he was talking about her.
Francis was an avid deer hunter and loved ducking with his father-in-law, Herb. He shared his talent for playing the guitar with the congregation at Lockeport Pentecostal Church. Francis was the life of the party and lit up any room he was in. He was an animated storyteller and mimic who would always indulge his family’s requests for one hilarious story after another. Always the jokester, any visit with Francis was guaranteed to include howling laughter and end with a big hug and a heartfelt “Love Ya”.
Predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Sarah Roache, father-in-law, Herb, sister-in-law Ceinwen, and nephew Jonathan, Francis leaves behind his loving wife Wendy, precious daughter Maria (Kerri Lescaudron) of Granville Ferry, brothers Myers (Susan), Edsel (Ruth) and sister Melda (Glenn Clark), all of Lockeport, Mother-in-law Marilyn (Terry Swim) of Shelburne, Brother-in-law Denny (Paula) of Wilmot. He was an endlessly entertaining uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
