Ferne Holmes (nee Tremere)
1926-2021
Peacefully with her family by her side at the Provincial
Palliative Care Centre on Thursday, September 30, 2021 of Ferne Holmes
(nee Tremere) of Kingston age 95 years.
Beloved wife of the late Calvin Holmes. Dear and loving
Mother of Beverly Jean (deceased in infancy), Garth (Maxine), Sandra
Weeks (Elmer), Darlene Gauthier (Leigh deceased), Marilyn Holmes and
her fur baby Harley. Loving and proud Grammie of Gail (Jason), Kent
(Tanya), Marlene (Mike), Heather (Trevor), Blair (Jaime), Stephanie
(Colin), Tyler (Carolyn) and Great Grammie of 19. Ferne is also
lovingly remembered by her sister Gerda McMonagle (Al), sister-in-law
Frances Tremere and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by
her parents Hibbert and Olive Tremere; father and mother-in-law Tyrus
and Hazel Holmes; sister Ora Baglole (Addie), brothers Arnold Tremere
(Inez), Wendell Tremere and brothers-in-law Patrick McMonagle and
Clyde Holmes (Hilda).
Ferne’s wake will be held at Hennessey Cutcliffe
Funeral Home on Monday, October 4th from 3:00
to 6:00 p.m. by invitation with COVID-19 restrictions in place.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October
5th at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church,
Charlottetown by invitation with interment to follow in East Wiltshire
Cemetery.
If so desired memorial contributions may be made to the East
Wiltshire Cemetery Fund or the Provincial Palliative Care Centre.
