Fannie’s Obituary
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother Fannie Murial Chislett (nee Skinner) at the Dr. Charles L. LeGrow Health Centre in Port aux Basques on Thursday, January 28th, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Born in Caines Island, NL, Fannie was the daughter of the late James and Maude Skinner (nee Parsons). She was also predeceased by her husband; Montford Chislett, father and mother-in-law; William and Mary Chislett, son; Carter Chislett, brothers; Bill Skinner, Reuben (Betty) Skinner, sisters; Susie (Fred) Bennett, Cassie (Henry) Spicer, Mary (Lewis) Strickland, and sister-in-law; Betty Skinner.
She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her loving children; Kathleen (Brian) Loader of Rose Blanche, NL, Joan (Ephriam) Young of Port aux Basques, NL, Gary (Ramona) Chislett of Dartmouth, NS, Bernice (Carl) Osmond of Port aux Basques, NL, Eric (Charlene) Chislett of Burnt Islands, NL, Tracy Chislett of Port aux Basques, NL, daughter-in-law; Annie Chislett of Rose Blanche, NL, grandchildren; Carolyn, Rowena, Wayne, Mark, Karen Ann, Ryan, Laura, Tasha, Riley, Amy, Madison, Landon, great-grandchildren; Isabella, Katie, Carly, Mackenzie, Ethan, Catelin, Matthew, Julia, Tristan, Sebastion, Patrick, Spencer, Ashley, Issac, Lynsey, Mackenzie, Dawson, Joey, sister; Lillian Hatcher of Port aux Basques, NL and sister-in-law; Dolly Skinner of Sydney, NS as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends.
A special thank you to the staff at the Mountain Hope Manor for the wonderful care given to Fannie during her stay. Fannie will be sadly missed.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 31st, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at East Haven Funeral Home Inc. The funeral service will take place on Monday, February 1st, at 11 am from St. James Anglican Church, Channel-Port aux Basques officiated by Rev. Jane Allen. Interment to follow at Hillside Haven Cemetery, Isle aux Morts Road. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations in Fannie’s memory can be made to the family.
