Eymard Thibodeau
1929-2021
RICHIBOUCTOU-VILLAGE, NB – Eymard Thibodeau 91, of
Oasis Residence in Dieppe, (formerly of Richibouctou-Village) passed
away peacefully at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont University Hospital
Center in Moncton on Saturday, May 22, 2021. Born in
Richibouctou-Village, he was the son of the late Albert F. Thibodeau
(1980) and late Marguerite “Maggie” (Maillet) Thibodeau
(1990).
Eymard was a retired Certified Master Carpenter. He was a
member of the Canadian and US Carpenters Unions, having worked in New
Brunswick, Labrador and in Massachusetts. He was a
“jack of all trades” and inventor by necessity. He
will be remembered for his quality workmanship. Eymard was a
graduate of “L’Ecole d’Agriculture” du
College St-Joseph at Memramcook, NB in 1947. He loved
tending his many gardens and landscaping his property.
Eymard lived in Waltham, MA for 17 years and will be sadly missed by
many friends. He was also a member of the Golden Age Club
and St. Antoine de Padoue Roman Catholic Church in
Richibouctou-Village.
Eymard will be sadly missed by his loving wife,
Fidélice (Cormier) Thibodeau of Oasis Residence in Dieppe,
NB; three daughters, Gabrielle Cunningham (Carl) of Waltham, MA,
Huberte “Annie” Schall (Gary) of Hopatcong, NJ, Louise
Thibodeau (Yves Gauvin) of Bathurst, NB; four sons, Jean-Marc
Thibodeau (Amy) of Dieppe, NB, Ronald Thibodeau (Deborah) of Dewey,
AZ, Denis Thibodeau (Vanessa) of Airdrie, AB, Albert Thibodeau (Donna)
of Baker City, OR; eighteen grandchildren, seven step grandchildren,
nine great grandchildren and six step great
grandchildren.
He is also survived by one sister, Alberta Maillet (late
René, 2020) of Richibouctou-Village; many brothers and
sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by two sisters,
Stella Fontaine (2003) (Vern, 1998), Albertine Gauvin (2016) (Joe,
2019).
Visitation will be held at Thompson’s Funeral Home
in Richibucto on Monday, May 31, 2021 beginning at 1:00 pm until
departure for the funeral. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated
on Monday, May 31, 2021 at 4:00 pm, St. Antoine de Padoue Roman
Catholic Church, Richibouctou-Village. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Eymard’s memory may be made to New Brunswick
Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the St. Antoine de Padoue Roman
Catholic Church would be appreciated by the family.
Due to COVID-19 regulations, a maximum of 50 people at a time
are allowed in the funeral home. Masks are mandatory and we ask that
social distancing be respected.
