Evelyn Jane Maarse nee Burkitt 2021

November 24, 1943 – July 27, 2021
Evelyn Maarse (nee Burkitt) passed peacefully at King Nursing home in Bolton. Beloved wife of Case for 58 Years. Loving mother of Garry (Kristen) and Darren (Patti) and grandmother to Camille, Connor, Garrik, and Damien. Predeceased by brother Peter.
Evelyn was born and raised in Kleinburg. From her mother Masel she learned to cook and can vegetables from her father Cecil’s impressive garden. She liked to play with her brother Peter and their friends. She went to business college and became a secretary at Retail Credit where she met her future husband Case. They were married in 1964 and lived in Weston for a time before moving to the countryside outside of Bolton. Evelyn loved the home she built with Case and shared with their sons. She enjoyed family trips no matter where they were. Evelyn also enjoyed her extended family with whom she always made sure to stay in touch. She was active in the community including years spent volunteering as a canvasser for the Canadian Cancer Society. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Egan Funeral Home, 203 Queen Street S. (Hwy 50), Bolton (905-857-2213).
