Etta’s Obituary
SWAINE, Etta Marjorie – age 89, Yarmouth, passed away on August 21,2021 in The Meadows Home for Special Care, in Yarmouth. Born December 28, 1931 in Carlton, she was a daughter of the late Alden and Bernice (Nickerson) Bethune. During her working year Etta worked as a waitress in a number of restaurants in Yarmouth, including Wagner’s, The Metropolitan and China Court. She enjoyed going shopping, spoiling her grandchildren, cooking and simply spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Karen (Arnold) Pitman; Grandchildren Penny, Steven, Linda, Denise, and Lisa. Many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters Dianna, Kay, Daisy and brother Lawrence. Besides her parents Etta was predeceased by her husband Paul; daughter Brenda and sisters Jean, Geraldine and one sister in Infancy. In keeping with Etta wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private family burial will take place at the Forrest Glen cemetery at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Nova Scotia Heart and Stroke, The Lung Association of Nova Scotia Society or the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
