Ethel passed away peacefully at home on a warm spring afternoon with her husband James and her daughter Dianne by her side. Born and raised in Dublin, Ethel worked for the Irish Sweepstakes before she met the love of her life, James McAree. They married shortly after in 1960. Together they started an adventure to Canada, where they slowly travelled across to the West Coast, building a family of six children along the way. Ethel was a devoted mother who opened her heart and home to neighborhood families along with her own. Ethel devoted her life also to the Church of Our Lady of Good Counsel: working as a member of the Catholic Women’s League she put in a great amount of effort in the spiritual upbringing of many children in the parish. Ethel is survived by her husband, James; her daughters Theresa and Dianne; her sons Jim, Raymond, Michael and Craig; her grandchildren Ashley, James and Lauren; and her great grandchildren Grayson and Liam. We will remember Mom as strong, literate, social and loving.
