Obituary
Esther Korol, passed away on October 12, 2021 at the Grandview Hospital, surrounded by her children. She was 77 years old.
Esther was born February 16, 1944 in Roblin, Manitoba to Harry and Mary Yellowaga. She had one sister Anne and one brother Randy.
She was married to Fred Korol for 44 years, with whom she shared a mutual love and affinity for the outdoors. Her life was rich with him, with whom she had three children, Todd, Cyndi and Shanna.
Esther had a fondness of stories and found herself frequently enraptured by books and film. She loved film, and had an encyclopedic knowledge of Hollywood action films.
As much as they could, in summer or winter, they had a love for fishing. Esther had a natural prowess for the sport and won herself a master angler award for a Northern Pike she caught. They would spend endless hours on their boat, fishing and enjoying the sunset in the Duck Mountains.
In her younger years, she showed her athletic ability on a town bowling team, where she won multiple bowling trophies.
Esther was a fantastic cook. She loved fresh, homegrown ingredients in her dishes and diligently tended to her home garden, and picked wild mushrooms in the quest for fresh flavours. She took pride in the fact that nobody who ever visited her home went away hungry.
She had a quick wit, and will be remembered fondly for her enduring sense of humor, even when her health start to deteriorate.
Her strong and unabiding faith lead her through the tough times, and kept with her to her final days. She will be missed dearly.
A family funeral will be held at a later date.
