Obituary of Ernie Kevis
Obituary of Ernest (Ernie) Alfred Kevis – 1955-2021
Ernest (Ernie) Alfred Kevis, of Quesnel BC, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2021 at GR Baker Hospital with his son and daughter by his side. He was 65 years old.
Born in Vancouver to Ella & Ernest Charles, Ernie then grew up in Steveston where he explored different occupations including school custodian, roofer, and commercial fisherman. He always had many great stories to tell of being on the water and his fishing adventures.
In 1980, Ernie moved to Quesnel BC with his wife, Susan Dube, where their twins, Dylan & Kallie, were born in 1986. Ernie worked for over 30 years as a drywaller/painter making many lifelong friends along the way. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, camping, as well as cooking. He was a great cook and loved to make meals for his family and friends.
Ernie was predeceased by his mother, father, brother Melvin, nephews Darrell Kevis and Richard McMurray, and niece Barb Long.
Ernie is survived by his daughter, Kallie Kevis (Eric), son Dylan Kevis (Britany), his precious grandchildren, Grayson, Brielle, and Bailey, and ex-wife and friend, Susan Dube. His brother Brian Kevis, and sisters Melrose Larsen and Cheryl Hildebrand (Leo) and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank his wonderful friends who were so kind and helpful in assisting Ernie during the last few years of his illness. Your kindness and support meant a lot to him as well as us.
As per Ernie’s wishes there will be no service held. His children plan on visiting one of his favourite fishing spots to spread his ashes. He will be missed and will live on in our hearts and memories.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Ernie Kevis 2021..
