Passed away peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital, Kitchener on Monday, November 8, 2021, at the age of 80.
Dear husband of Mary Jane (nee Bews) Donaldson, for 54 years. Loving father of Brian (Sarah) Donaldson and Deanna (Shawn) Young. Cherished grandfather of Philip and Adam Donaldson and Jonathan (Taylor) Young, and Jordan Young. Will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his siblings James (Vi) Donaldson, Evelyn (William) Raynard.
Ernie was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi RC Church. He worked for many years and retired from Faultless Doerner in Waterloo. Ernie had many interests, he enjoyed being active with the Golden Triangle Marine Modellers, a very active fan of the Kitchener Rangers and formed many friendships with the walking club.
A special thank you to Dr. Jackson, Dr. Ler and Dr. Adams along with the special nurses on the 6th Floor of St. Mary’s Hospital.

Visitation will be held at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., on Thursday, November 11, 2021 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Parish Prayers offered at 3:45 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., Kitchener on Friday, November 12, 2021 at 11 a.m., with Rev. Murray McDermott as Celebrant. Interment to follow at Memory Gardens, Breslau. A reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home immediately following the interment.
